Reconnect with the spirit of our land
Geoff Hayes is an artist based in Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains and was the winner of the Blue Mountains Artfest 2016 Judges Choice Award.
Geoff gained formal art training through a Bachelor of Education (Art & Design) at the University of South Australia which he completed in 1980. Geoff taught art in secondary school in South Australia in a career spanning twenty years.
Since moving to the mountains in 2001, Geoff has concentrated in developing his own art practice, and has largely been inspired by our unique landscape. He has discovered his own special places that inspire him, such as the Kanangra region and his aim is to express a spirit of place as much as a visual representation.
Geoff’s skill covers many art media including charcoal and pastels, as well as painting in acrylics and oils. He continues to develop by embracing more challenges in composition and working on further refinement of technique. His works have been well received by clients and peers and this has contributed to his growing reputation. Geoff has had several solo and group exhibitions.
